This design for an RF needle-based anti-aging medical device (Antige Plus series) is a representative piece of medical aesthetic equipment recognized for its design maturity and reliability through international awards, including the Asia Design Prize 2023 and the Global iT Award 2023. The core of this design lies in expressing technology without being overbearing.
The overall silhouette is based on a softly sculpted vertical volume, designed to be perceived as an object that blends naturally into a space rather than equipment that dominates it. Through gentle curves and gradual layer divisions, it eases the tension typical of medical devices and forms a patient-friendly impression. The color and material strategy, featuring warm silver and soft gray metallic tones, conveys the premium image required for high-end medical equipment. This is a UX-based color separation strategy that naturally distinguishes functional areas to assist the user’s visual perception.
The tilting display at the top is positioned considering the practitioner’s field of vision and operational flow, while the handpiece cradle and cable management maintain an organized appearance. The emergency stop button reflects medical safety standards through clear color contrast and strategic placement. The lower base ensures both a stable center of gravity and mobility, enhancing safety in clinical environments. Ultimately, this design successfully integrates technical reliability, practitioner-centered ergonomics, and a globally competitive medical design identity, serving as a benchmark for medical aesthetic design that embodies a brand’s philosophy within a space.
